Travel to and from Brighton
By Air
London Gatwick Airport is by far the nearest airport. Don't go to any other London airport as transport links are poor/slow. EasyJet operates most short haul lines into Gatwick North terminal. Trains to Brighton go 6 times an hour and take 30 minutes.
By Coach
Coaches (National Express) from Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, London etc drop you near the seafront. Walk west along the seafront to the hotel (10 mins).
By Train
From Gatwick Airport, London, and further north: You can pick up a direct train (National Rail) to Brighton from Gatwick and the following London stations: London St Pancras, Farringdon, Blackfriars, London Bridge or London Victoria – they go 2–4 times an hour, all stop at Gatwick en route. These are operated by Thameslink, Gatwick Express and Southern Railway.
Trains also come in from the West Coast Line (Southampton and Portsmouth), and the East Coast Line (Lewes, Eastbourne, Hastings). Direct trains come from Luton Airport, Bedford and Cambridge via London.
From the Station
Once you arrive at Brighton station you can walk to the hotel (20 mins) – go straight down Queens Road towards the seafront. Once at the seafront turn right (west) and walk along for about 9 minutes (0.4 mile) until you see the Holiday Inn.
Taxis from the station will cost £8–10. To pick up a taxi take a hard left out of the ticket gates and follow the taxi signs round to the back of the station where there is a taxi rank.
Buses number 6 from outside the front of the station will get you closest to the hotel: it goes about every 15 minutes. Get off at the "Waitrose" stop and walk down Little Preston Street, which brings you to the sea front next to the hotel. £3 flat fare single journey.
By Car
Most routes from North and West will route you via the M25. From the M25 follow signs to Gatwick Airport via the M23 (junction 7). Once past Gatwick Airport stay on the M23/A23 until you arrive in Brighton. Follow signs to the seafront/follow your satnav.
Parking at the hotel: The Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront offers a secure, underground, 24-hour CCTV-operated car park for guests at £25 per 24 hours. The entrance is via Little Preston Street BN1 2HN. Please confirm parking availability and rates directly with the hotel.
